What can be done for post of crown that has broken?

Q. What are the options once the post of a crown brakes? they are talking about an operation to push the gum & drill into the bone in order to make sure the next crown doesn’t sit directly on the bone. Any other option???? this one doesn’t sound too much fun!!!,
A. I think they are talking about exposing more of your root so that the crown can grab hold of the roots as well as the post – called the ferrule effect.  This is a good idea and is a relatively simple procedure provided your root length and bone support is good
