What can be done for friend’s extremely loose and crooked teeth?

Q. I have a friend who has extremely loose, crooked teeth. So loose and crooked that it is now affecting her ability to eat properly. She was referred to a dentist who removed some of her teeth and has said she is not willing to remove any more teeth as there is nothing wrong with them – her gums being the answer. She also said it was not worth putting in a plate at a cost of around £189, as it would probably have to be done again, if her teeth were to move further.Should she seek a second opinion. She is being treated as an NHS patient. I would welcome your comments. Thank you. ,
A. Often if all the teeth are beyond saving, the back teeth are removed first and the gum allowed to harden for 3-6 months. A denture is then made which can be supported by the healing ridges but estimates what shape the front will be after extractions are completed. this denture is fitted on the day of the last extractions. after 6-12 months all the areas will be fully healed and reshaped, you then make a second set of teeth that normally lasts for years.
