What are the bands needed for when using the Clearstep braces?

Q. hi i have clearstep braces now but my teeths are still not straight there is gaps left between the teeths my doctor has recommended that i should use something called bands for the teeths so they get closer then when the gaps close covers will be put on please let me know whats that plastic band is,
A. I am not sure what these are you need to ask your dentist what the plan is and to explain it to you.
