Want veneers replaced and need implants. How can I be sure of the right dentist?

Q.
I would like to have the 2 veneers replaced on my front teeth. Both natural teeth have silver fillings which now give a grey impression. My veneers are about 15 years old though.

Also I have a missing tooth (top right) and beside that I have a temporary crown (and bridge). The problem is my gum has receded and I would like a skin graft to resolve this. So I also need an implant & crown .

This treatment will be a huge investment for me as the cost will be high. How can I be certain of finding the right dentist & being happy with the results?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Liza

Thanks for your questions.

My advice to you would be to seek out soem experienced dentists local to you first and also maybe in the nearest major town/city. It’s worth having a few consultations to be sure you’ve found the right person

You can ususlly tell from a website if the dentist has the right qualifications, experience and great results as they are normally displayed. When you go for your conultations ask to see examples of cases just like yours. Invest in a quality consultaiton, with the dentist, whrere they take a lot of time with you, ideally an hour or more , on your first visit.

Beware of ‘free’ consultations. They are often not with the dentist or are very short

At my own practice we advise an hour with myself of one of the other dentists first and we offer a second consultaion for free to go over any complex or complicated things. We also have a team of specialists in-house ‘ to treat things such as gum grafting.

This website has some excellent cosmetic dentists listed on it

Hope that helps

Mark
