There was a hole beginning in one of my lower teeth should ive fillings?
Q. Two years ago my dentist told me there was a hole beginning to form in one of my lower teeth (approx 4th from the back. I asked him what could be done, and he said “Nothing – we wait until it gives trouble and take it out.” This was my first visit to this dentist (my previous dentist having died)and I was uneasy about the answer. On my last vist, I asked whether it could be filled, but he said no, and gave a technical explanantion which made no sense to me, as a layman. Can I seek a second opinion with a dentist in another practice? Many thanks
A. Yes it would be a good to get a 2nd opinion as there maybe a perfectly valid reason for this. Perhaps the tooth has a problem with the root that can’t be rectified??
