the orthodontist told me I need oral surgery

Q. Hi, i had an underbite initially and the orthodontist i went to advise me that i would need oral surgery(upper jaw) as well as braces. the orthodontist gave me the option to have surgery or to have braces first to see if braces alone can resolve the problem. when i was 16 my braces came off and my teeth and bite was perfect so no need for surgery. however i am now 23 and i have a slight open-bite (0.5mm). can this be fixed with braces? my old orthodontist said no as its due to growth and i would need surgery, however another orthodontist advised me that he can fix this with invisalign. can you please advise me on what is actually true?

A. I can’y really tell without seeing you, however I would try to correct the problem with a brace before considering the possibility of surgery
