I Have Crooked Teeth And I’ve Always Wanted Veneers. Could You Give Me A Rough Idea Of What Treatment Options I’d Need?

Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I have always wanted veneers for my teeth. They are very crooked and made worse in recent years due to my wisdom teeth (which desperately need removing) I also have a false tooth next to my front teeth on the right hand side. This was a temporary tooth put in when I was 15 (I’m now 27!) as I never grew another tooth on either side. (I can send pictures if necessary). I wanted a rough idea of treatment options and cost to correct my smile and straighten my awful teeth. I would be looking at maybe 6 veneers on the top and 4 along the bottom? I’d probably need them whitening also and any other treatment you think is necessary (such as removal of wisdom teeth). Thanks in advance I very much look forward to your reply.

I Seem To Have Tried Everything To Get Rid Of The Stains On My Teeth. What Can I Do To Get My Smile Whiter?

Thursday, May 29th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I really hope you can help me. My teeth are stained and no matter what I seem to do, they never get white and I want a perfectly white smile. What would you advise me to do? I tried various toothpastes with baking soda. I even tried using baking soda by itself, I used super smile, it didn’t work. I brush my teeth 2 times a day and brush them for a minimum of 2 minutes. Are there any treatments that could help me with this problem? Thank you for taking the time to listen to me.

My Teeth Are Awful At The Moment. Could You Give Me An Average Quote On The Cost Of Veneers Please?

Thursday, May 29th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. Could you tell me how much would it be for veneers for my upper and lower teeth. They are awful at the moment and I need your advice so please help? I’ve got no confidence what so ever I I’m wondering if I can pay for this work in instalments as I don’t have enough money to pay for this in one lump sum. Do you know of anywhere that offers a payment plan? Thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.

Can Fixed Braces Be Attached To Porcelain Veneers? Replacing The Veneers Would Cost Too Much.

Friday, May 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have four porcelain veneers on my upper front teeth. Due to gum disease my upper right lateral incisor is moving my central incisor forward. I am hoping orthodontics treatment will help. I am interested in the six month smile fixed brace over Invisalign as it’s less complicated to manage daily. My only concern is whether fixed braces can be attached to porcelain veneers because the cost of replacing veneers is £800 each. This is more than the cost of the fixed brace treatment! Please could you help with this query; can fixed braces be attached to porcelain veneers without damaging them? I thank you in advance.

Hey Andrew. Can I Use Veneers To Fix A Pretty Severe Cross-Bite? Or Would It Best To Move Forward With Braces And Surgery?

Monday, May 19th, 2014
Q.

Hey Andrew. I’m a 26 year old male and I have a pretty severe cross-bite. I really don’t want to get braces, orthodontic treatment or surgery to correct it. Is it possible to have veneers correct this problem? Or would it be best to move forward with braces and surgery?

I spoke with an orthodontist and he told me I would have to wear braces for 1 year, have corrective surgery and keep the braces for another year. I just want to know if that is my only option. Thanks so much for your help!

I’ve Broken A Crown. Should I Get A New Or Should I Consider Another Type Of Treatment?

Friday, May 16th, 2014
Q.

I would like some advice regarding my front tooth.

I have a front tooth porcelain crown which has fractured at the back & a piece has broken off. I have had this crown for 15 years.

Do you think I would benefit from having composite bonding & a veneer rather than a new porcelain crown?

Which is best to match my other teeth? My crown has discoloured slightly around the gum-line.

I welcome your advice & I would like to know costs please. Many thanks.

I Am Unhappy With My Four Front Teeth. Should I Go For Invisalign Or Veneers?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore. I am unhappy about my front upper 4 teeth and for many years I have felt insecure about myself. I wanted to get veneers done simply because they seem cheaper and correction allows for quicker results. However a dentist has advised me to go for Invisalign. He said as my teeth were in good condition and not as bad as I think it would be better as I am only upset with their positioning. The dentist said it would take 6 months to complete the course and cost around £1400. Please can you advise if I have received good advice? How would I know if I am in good hands and paying the right price? Many thanks (36 years old).

A Had A Bad Slip And Snapped My Teeth. Would It Be Better To Use Cosmetic Bonding Or Veneers To Rebuild My Teeth?

Thursday, May 1st, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark,

I’ve unfortunately slipped on a wet floor last week and landed on my jaw face down and have snapped off a third of both of my front teeth horizontally. There are also some minor cracks in the enamel which go up to the gum line in one tooth. My family’s NHS dentist covered the exposed roots over with a temporary white filling. I’ve got to leave it on for 2 weeks to see if the root decides to die off. He then suggested opting for composite bonding to re-build my teeth. I would really appreciate a second opinion from a cosmetic expert whether this was a sensible approach or whether veneers would be a better investment from the outset. Would the bonding method look okay and match the top half of my teeth? Can it be used to cover the cracks up to my gumline? Can it snap off easily as it’s quite a large area and further damage my existing teeth? Would be great to get your thoughts.

I Would Like To Know More About Veneers And The Processes I Would Need To Through When Paying For Treatment?

Thursday, April 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. I’m looking to get veneers but I’m not sure what type I need as my teeth are quite badly discoloured. My teeth are not in the greatest shape. If I have veneers placed over my bad teeth will they rot underneath? I’m 20 years old and I don’t smoke but I don’t want veneers that will not last. Also is it possible to get veneers on finance, if so what do I have to pay? Does this involve a deposit plus the monthly cost? What is the process of having veneers fixed? Thank you.

I’m 19 And I Have A Gap Between My Teeth. What Treatment Can Fix This And Will I Need A Frenectomy?

Thursday, April 24th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I’m 19 years old and I’ve got gaps in my top teeth, especially between my 2 middle teeth, which is about 0.5cm wide. I think this is caused by my low maxillary labial fraenum, which is making the gap wider with time. This is really embarrassing for me and it affects my confidence. What kind of treatment do I need and what would be the estimated cost? Also, would I need to get a frenectomy afterwards?
Thank you for taking the time to advise me on this matter.
