My dentist says white fillings are the best treatment for my eroded teeth, is this correct?

Q.

Hello Dr Sunita Verma. I have a question for you please. I have just visited the dentist who has said my teeth are badly eroding away, my front two have yellow at the top which she said she will correct with white fillings. Is this the best option or whould veneers be best? I do not grind my teeth that i am aware of and i eat little acid foods so I dont understand why they are eroding any idea?

kIND REGARDS and have a nice day

I am 23 years old and would like cosmetic treatment for baby teeth. Is this possible?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Dear Doctor Sunita Verma. My question: I am a 23 years old university student from Glasgow. I have not lost my baby tooth (central incisor!!) and it doesn’t have any roots and it’s quite strong as well! But I was wondering to go through some cosmetic surgery as there’s a gap there.
I would really appreciate if you could help and write me your personal opinion on this as my dentist recommended to not to get rid of if as long as it’s strong.

Kind Regards and best wishes.

Can you help, my teeth are falling out. Can anyone help me?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Doctor,
I came here as a last resort for some advice. Im a 23 yr old mother of two and I hide in my house everyday. I’ve always brushed my teeth 2 to 3 times a day but bad teeth runs in my family though the women. My grandma lost her teeth in her 30’s and my mother’s teeth are rotting, black and just not appealing. My teeth are following down that path. They are so terrible that i dont even leave my house. Every month another piece of tooth just falls out of my mouth leaving broken teeth everywhere. Alot of my problems are in the front and you can see why that causes me not just a great deal of embarrasment but also pain! pain everyday. I saved up for weeks to make a denist appt. to see what i would have to do. Let’s just say that was a nightmare, there is no way i can affort to get my teeth fixed, or even get vaneers like i would like. i fear that i will loose all of my teeth in the coming years and i will be in dentures before i hit 30. All of the horrors i read about aging quickly after you get dentures terrify me. There has to be something i can do, some way i cant afford to get something done. My question to you is, what do i do if i cant afford it?.. is my best option waiting until all of my teeth fall out to get dentures?
Do you know someone who helps out people like me? Please help my dream of being able to smile again.. take my daughters out without having to hide my face.
Please help me,

I have had problems with my teeth for years since an infection. What can be done?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

I have had problems with my teeth for years since an infection while pregnant. My teeth have never been really white but I’ve always been told I had a nice smile. I have veneers either side of my top two front teeth. I saw the dentist today and he said my teeth are an A2 and they are not brown and he did not think they needed whitening. Is A2 a white tooth. I just have a complex these days about my teeth as I feel I’ve lost a nice smile. Also, my daughter is disabled and I clean her teeth. They are clean but food seems to stick to them. What would you recommend I use as a toothpaste (she is 13). Thank you

Would veneers help fixed my twisted teeth?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi Dr Glaister,

When i was very young (I’m now 30) I slipped over in the bath and cracked my right upper central incisor (this has a vaneer on it now) and damaged my left upper central incisor, so that it began to turn inwards. It has now turned about 45 degrees inwards and looks very unpleasant. I would like to have the right one looked at and possibly repaired as the vaneer was not applied perfectly and is slightly misshapen. I would also like to repair the left one so that it looks normal again. While growing up I had a 2mm gap between my 2 upper central incisors, but that’s no longer there as my left upper is sitting just slightly behind my right. What would you recommend? How much is it likely to cost? How soon could I have it done?

Kind Regards,

Can veneers work on my short, stained teeth?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,  I was just wondering about porcelain veneers. If i got them done and i was to get them redone 5/10 years time, would the price ever rise? and could i ever get my normall teeth back if i changed my mind a few years time? how old do you have to be to get them done and how well do you need to treat them? I would like veneers because my teeth are quite short and a little stained and i would like a nice new smile, would it be possible to extend the length of my teeth at all? Thank your for any advice you can give

What can fix my Grey teeth ?

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011
Q.

Hello there Dr Riten,
I have two front teeth which have undergone root canal treatment about 8 years ago and they are now awfully discoloured and look hideous in my mouth. I want to no which is the best way to improve the look of these grey teeth? I look ten years older than i am so the question is ….Veneers or crowns? because i would like to improve the look of my mouth and feel better all round and have better oral hygiene There have been no pain or problems with it just wanted to improve the look of the smile. Seeing that they are my front teeth, i am considering porcelain veneers/crowns. Any advice is much appreciated. Also i was interested in the 6 month smile option ?

I have always dreamed of being able to smile without the thought of dont smile to much in my mind,i have a bit of a crooked smile across my top 4 front teeth that i now wish i would have had fixed as a child, being as i am in some financial hardship at this point in my life,i was wondering if there is anything i could do to have my smile fixed by whatever means needed be it a brace, veneers, whatever it took, but at a price plan i could afford as i am now 27 and to old to qualify for cosmetic work on the nhs.Or has being a misguided and careless youngster ruined my chances of ever being able to live as the confident happy girl i know i could be if only i could SMILE and LAUGH without hiding my mouth,it may sound silly but deep down this problem is central to my life, your advice would truly help, thanku for taking the time to read this i hope you will find time to reply x

How can I resolve my awful gappy smile ?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011
Q.

Hi

Would the inman aligner be a good option for the gap I have in between my two front teeth? Or should I consider veneers?

I am quite concious of the gap that I have and would like to be able to have perfectly straight teeth and a hollywood smile. In addition, my next two teeth are my k9 teeth and as these have a point towards the end, is there something that I can do about these? can i have them filled down or can i have lose veneers to cover the gaps? I have considered the veneers, but recently came across the inman aligner we seems a cheaper and alternative treatment.

Thanks
