Can you explain the veneer procedure?

Q.
Hello! Can you explain me the full procedure of veneers? how long it takes, and how many visits I will need.
A.
Veneers are thin sheets or porcelain that cover the front surface of your tooth, they can be used to change the colour, shape and look of your teeth and smile. During the first appointment we will prepare your teeth and remove a small amount from the surface and take an impression of your teeth to create a model of your teeth. The next part of the procedure involves creating temporary veneers which gives you an idea of how they will look in your mouth and you will wear these for about 2 weeks. During this time the lab technician will make your veneers according to the model of your smile. ON your next appointment your temporary veneers are removed from your teeth and the porcelain veneers are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. There are some dentists that will do a veneer procedure in a single day using cerec veneers but i don’t believe that the final result is as good. Composite veneers can also be done in a single visit but they do not last as long as porcelain veneers, however they are less invasive. Your dentist will be able to advise you on which veneer procedure is right for you depending on your requirements and your budget.

I had veneers done last week and the procedure took 4 weeks in total. i was wearing my temporary veneers for almost 4 weeks and i had to attend the dentists for 2 fittings because the lab didnt quite get them right. i am really happy with the way they look now and was well worth the wait. So for me it was 4 visits in total including my consultation and the final fitting of the veneers took about 2 hours. I had 10 veneers done and the total procedure including temporary veneers and some gum contouring cost £11,000.
