My Dentist Give Limited Advice On How To Deal With My Gum Disease, Can You Help?

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013
Q.

im 24 and I have gum disease. My front teeth are really frustrating me, my teeth were perfectly fine and all of a sudden my gums became swollen and started to disappear. I find it really embarrassing. I used to have great teeth, white, all straight always smiling and now I hate to smile.
I am constantly sucking on my teeth and gums. I have always looked after my teeth, brushing, flossing, Listerine. And now im stuck. I would really like to have veneers done but I don’t know if we can have them done with gum disease. My dentist doesn’t particually give me any adivse apart from brush my teeth and floss. is there any specific treatment you can have done to prevent the gum disease?

Q.

I have really badly stained front I am a non smoker but do like red wine – can I still successfully have veneers despite the fact that I may have gum disease as they are bleeding very easily? I believe that the enamel on my front teeth has gone it is making me feel miserable. It is leading to confidence issues and I really need some advice to get it sorted.  What can you suggest? please

I also suffer with Crohns disease also my teeth are not correctly in alignment top and bottom and I have no bite in a word my teeth need a complete overhaul.

I really do not wish to have braces my age is 56 years old

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Can you suggest a fast treatment for my crooked teeth?

Friday, October 19th, 2012
Q.

Mark,

I have had very crooked teeth and a bad smile for years and have just gotten on with things. I now have a desire to address this but dont know what can be done. I have had them checked a number of times and my teeth are very healthy Ive been told. The are too crooked for invisilign and the main options it appears are orthodontics. However this is a long process and I run a business. I want to investigate a makeover and veneer option (or any other options that can be done in a month or so). Are you able to help me understand what can be done. I selected you for this question as you appear to have all the right mix of dentistry in your practice to be able to advise me properly on options and potential costs. I am 42 years old in case that may influences the advice. Much appreciated.
