My teeth crumbled at the top except about 4 what are my options

Saturday, October 17th, 2009
Q.
All of my teeth crumbled at the top except about 4 during chemotherapy. Now my immune system is compromised. I know that I may need a lot of work, but I am afraid. I am a breast cancer survivor of inflammatory breast cancer. My prognosis is 60 percent chance of reoccurance. What would be your recommendation. I had 1 year of chemotherapy, radiation and a year of herceptin treatment. I have hpb, atrial fibs and rhuemotoid arthritis. Thank you

Can I hv denture fitted Plz advice

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Q.
I have had a partial denture for 20years but my upper teeth have got progressivly worse, my left central incisor has twisted and has receeded the gum quite considerably and is very loose, and has left a large gap between the other central incisor, the next 3 teeth on left upper are missing, the final 3 molars have gum recession also and dont look good. The right central incisor is chipped with slight gum recession, the lateral and canine on the upper right seem to be slightly longer and have slight gum recession, the next 2 molar seem ok, mising the 1st molar and 2nd molar seems ok. Also my teeth do have gaps Would it be better to just have them all pulled and a denture fitted as about half are already missing or need to be pulled. . I am 40yo, your suggestions please.

Is six months braces is suitable or bridges for crowded teeth?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have severe overcrowding of my upper 4 front teeth. Recently i went to a dentist who suggested the six month brace, however i went to another dentist and she recommended that i have my four teeth extracted and a bridge put in place. This dentist said that the six month smile does not work on teeth which are severley crowded. I’m so confused, im not sure what to believe. I find i just get everyone building my hopes up and then getting blown out the window the next minute! (sorry just had to have a lil rant!) i would appreciate your opinion as to whether six month smile braces are suitable for severe crowded teeth and if not is bridging the next option? Many thanks

I m 19 Can I replace front big teeth with small ones

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi, my front two teeth are a lot bigger than the rest, making them look odd. I was recently thinking about having them removed and having smaller ones in place, but obviously i need to know about the options available. Please could you reply providing information on any treatments that would be suitable. I am 19 years old and i have had braces in the past which aligned my teeth, however the size of the front two ruins my smile. Thankyou Riten.

Is its possible to replace amalgam fillings?

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am 15 and have suffered from amelogenesis imperfecta my whole life. At the moment, all of my molars have stainless steel caps on them and most of my teeth are heavily restored with amalgam fillings. Apparently, these restorations were stronger when I was younger, but now I am getting bullied at school because it looks like I am chewing tin foil all the time! Is it possible to get these replaced with tooth coloured restorations and can this be done on the NHS?

What procedure to be followed for smile makeover?

Sunday, October 11th, 2009
Q.
I have seen a cosmetic dentist with a view to smile makeover. Treatment consists of old crown replacements and also a Bridge. For the Bridge I need to have a molar extracted. The teeth either side of it are old crowns. One of these teeth has infection in root and needs root canal treatment. I will be having diagnostic wax-up for the treatment. In your opinion in what order would you do the treatment. i.e. extraction first, root canal, wax-up etc. What proceedure would you follow. Thank you.
