Ive a root canal done on my molar and the dentist prefers temporary crowns advice?

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have had a root canal done to my second molar. My dentist has suggested that I best have a temporary crown fitted, as my tooth is very vulnerable. The reason for him to say this is because:- A) last week I had my tooth quarterly spilt, which he managed to extract and fill it up. B) this is what i dont understand, he says that the tooth above my second molar is sharp ( along those lines) and is not doing any favours to my second molar. C) if i decide to remove my tooth, there is a possiblity that my molar will eventually get loose and i might loose it. I havent had my wisdom tooth come out as yet. What’s a temporary filling? I personally find all this a hassle now, It’s so frustrating, can’t I just remove it!

My filling in my front tooth is causing me extreme pain and i cant eat anything what do i do

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Five days ago I had two fillings in the back which don’t hurt but one i had in my front tooth is causing me extreme pain in not just that tooth but all of the others, I also had a scrape and polish so I thought they would be sore but not to this extreme, I can’t eat or drink anything especially anything cold, but I can’t afford to pay for more treatment if something has gone wrong. I’m worried in case its really serious.

I had 3 teeth extracted today. I was prescribed Vibramycin. Do I really need this antibiotic? I had no pain before so I don’t think I had an infection. Is it dangerous for me to skip the meds?

should i be worried about the small area of filling which has been replaced by another dentist

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
Q.
Hello: I have a filling in one on my back teeth, a month ago a small part of that filling fell out as i didn’t feel pain i didn’t book an appointment with the dentists. for tree days I was in pain so I decided to see a dentists. She told me that there’s not decay or another cavity in that area, so she just replaced the small area which fell out. I’m quite concerned as I’m not sure if It had been better to have the whole filling removed, and because of that I could have something bad in my tooth. The thing is but the moment I’m living in another country I’m i’ll see my dentist in four weeks. Should I be worried? My teeth are in really good condition as I see my dentist at least twice a year. Thanks

i have a quite jagged and bumpy teeth would filling be an option to get them straighter?

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
I have recently become quite self concious about the bottoms of my teeth, some are quite jagged and bumpy and my top fron two teeth are quite long. Would filing be an option to get them straighter and would I need to see a cosmetic dentist or just my normal one?

my 4 yr old son got his nine teeth removed without my consultation is this right

Thursday, May 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Tennet, Unfortunately my little 4 year old son went under general anaestethic today and the dentist who was removing the teeth told us that my son may have to get some filled and some taken out, well after waiting 2hrs he came out and told us it was ok to go into see him. When we got to him there was a lady there with him and she said he had nine teeth removed. This was so traumatic to us as he did not consult with us to let us know how many he was going to take out. Does this sound right to you

my dentist filled my back teeth how long it would take to settle the teeth into a position

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I have posted this question on the forum but decided to try and email direct. One of my back teeth had some of the tooth break off, back and side, so my dentist filled it. Everything was ok but a few days later I felt like my front teeth were moving, kind of clicking together and with pressure on the front teeth, I rang him and went back, he filed in between a couple of the teeth to make some room and said it should be ok but after another couple of days they still felt like they were moving. went back again and he said because of the filling at the back I was getting used to a new bite, but he filed the filled tooth down some more and said that it would just take a while to get used to it and once the front teeth aligned themselves and they were in a position they would settle down and would not click together as much or wobble (they are a little), he said it also feels that they wooble a hell of a lot but in fact not even a hair but I think in my mind it is worse cos you can feel it. Was just wondering how long it would take to settle the teeth into a position, I know it takes time but can anyone say roughly how long!!! Thanx
