I really really hate my teeth

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008
Q.
Hello there:) I’m a 16 year old girly, and I really really hate my teeth! Everyone tells me there’s nothing wrong with them and to be honest there isn’t any major problems! I just want them to look perfect! For me! Here’s an idea of how they look:- / < My top teeth slightly stick out \ < & this is the bottom row. I just want both rows pushed back, straight, but the thing is i really don’t want any normal braces! My hearts set on lingual. As my teeth stick out having normal braces would look flaming rediculous! Could i have lingual braces? All my teeth are together with no gaps apart from the front two, so would having teeth removed be an issue? Im honestly not fussed about the price! but i really wan’t lingual and no other, not even invisalign it’l just look silly. The un-noticable the better! As i said i’m 16 but do i have to pay the whole amount straight away, could i not pay a fee over a period of time as of my circumstances? Sorry if i blabber on, i just really wan’t my teeth straight and my private dentist said no when i was 15. So now i pay the price! Please do get in touch if you have time! I’d love to hear your verdict on my sad dilema! Much appreciated:) Ps: I have no idea if you even specialise in lingual braces, total guess!

Monday, December 22nd, 2008
Q.
Hi There Sorry to bother you, & thank you very much to offer a place to ask the question. Actually I am having my orthodontic treatment from last year & having the fixed braces on both upper & lower jaw. Now I got my wedding planned on March next year & I dont want to have braces on that special day. So is it possible to get the fixed braces off for 2-3 weeks & then fixed it. I dont wanna ask this question to my doctor, so please help me on this. Regards

I have had Inman Aligners which I wore for over 9 months

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008
Q.
I have had Inman Aligners which I wore for over 9 months before giving up because I had to work abroad. My teeth had not got into the position they were promised they would by my dentist. Now I am back in the UK, I would like to finish treatment but not by the same dentist. He said I should try invisalign and I would only need 2 sets, but how can I be sure this would be right? I do not want to go through more money and time and maybe 4 or 5 sets of expensive invisalign. Can you advise? Can you promise that Invisalign ARE invisable! I have to work with the public and speak a lot to them. I do not want months of mickey taking again.

my third tooth is twisted

Friday, December 12th, 2008
Q.
Hi I was hoping you could give me an idea of what the best way of sorting out my smile would be and maybe a rough idea of how much it would cost. When i was younger my third tooth i think its called the canine grew twisted and closer to the front than it should have because of this my second tooth never grew so now i have one tooth in the middle of where two teeth should be with gaps on both sides. i don’t mind if my rogue tooth needed to be removed for the best results. But i would like to be able to smile properly as quickly and cheaply as possible as it is really beginning to get me down. Thank you in advance for your help & advice I look forward to hearing from you.

Im 17, i had ceramic put on recently. My orthodontic said I would only need to use them for 6 months. I only have a couple spacing problems. Is it possible that i only need them for 6 months when I keep hearing that the average time is 2 years or so.

One of my upper incisors B didn’t grow It is genetics

Thursday, December 11th, 2008
Q.
Hello, One of my upper incisors (B) didn’t grow. It is genetics. My sister don’t have one of the incisors (B) too. They move her teeth so the big gap size of a tooth dissapeared. In my case they put a temporary porcelain tooth which is glued with some special glue to my incisor (A) and canin. I was supposed to have a surgery where they would give me implant. But I don’t want to have implant. I am just 22 years old and I don’t want to have fake tooth all my life. I would like to have my teeth moved, so the space, where is porcelain tooth now, will be gone. They did this with my sisters teeth so it is possible isn’t it? It doesn/t matter that the gap is big as a tooth? I would like to ask you if it can be done and if it can be done with Invisalign. Thank You very much

I have known for a while I will need braces

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008
Q.
Hello, I am 17 years old, and I have known for a while I will need braces. i go to an NHS orthodontist and have a removable brace. However, I have been told I need to have four teeth out. This is a big problem for me because I am terrified of needles and having the teeth pulled out. I have tried to have the teeth pulled out four times, twice under sedation. I would like to know if there any braces which I could have which would not need any teeth pulling out, as I would love to have straight teeth. Thank You.

I’ve always had a gummy smile

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008
Q.
I don’t know how to start these. :/ But, I’ve always had a gummy smile, I’ve always been made fun of because of it. I had braces on for five years, and yet, I still have a gap on one side of my two front teeth. I never even smile that much in pictures, because I fear embarrassment. I believe my smile is controllable, but why tolerate that and not get it corrected? I absolutely despise my gummy smile and also my poor enamel, which show white marks at the tip of my two front teeth. I just wish I could afford corrective gum surgery and porcelain veneers. I was wonder what the cost would be after insurance? Or at least an estimated cost. If not that what else should I do? Plus, I feel as if my teeth are already long and the gummy smile correction will make them even longer? or would you shave the teeth down? Thank you so much for taking time and reading my question. I just wish for the impossible.

I’m a 26 year old guy a couple of months ago my dentist told me I have gum disease

Friday, December 5th, 2008
Q.
Hi Dr I’m a 26 year old guy a couple of months ago my dentist told me I have gum disease which really shocked me, main reasons been I look after my teeth so much I don’t smoke and as far as I’ve found out its not in my family history. Only 3 months after the dentist informed me of this I had to get a tooth at the back of the right side of my mouth taken out which my dentist told me was due to my gum disease I’m now really afraid now that I’ll be left with no teeth by my 40s which would be awful for me as I really take pride of my teeth and it’s always the first thing I notice in person. I’ve only just had my orthodontic braces removed 2 years ago and now this. What can I do to stop this gum disease or prevent it and what is the worst case scenario???? Many
