Post infection a few months ago my wisdom tooth has become loose. What are the best options for me

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
A few mnoths ago I had an infection of one of my top teeth next to my wisdom tooth. It has since been slightly loose. I am not keen on extraction so would a cap or crown be beneficial. Or is it best to have it extracted? It is not causing me too much trouble currently. but I am worried if it gets infected again Many thanks

I have just been diagnosed with having gum diesase and my teeth are becoming loose

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have just been diagnosed with having gum diesase and my front bottom teeth are loose, I have just had a crown on my upper front tooth which cost me £1200 pounds. what can I have done to my bottom teeth? I can’t afford £1200 per tooth and wouldn’t be able to have crowns or bridgework as the surrounding teeth would not support the loose ones as they are loose to? Many thanks

My front teeth have loosened a little and the come has receded considerably

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
I have never had the best shaped teeth in the world but have always been told by my dentist that they are good strong teeth. I dont smoke and I am very particular about cleaning my teeth and flossing. A couple of years ago my dentist retired and this has not helped me because I have not been to a dentist since. In the last couple of years one of my front teeth have loosened a little and the come has receded considerably. The tooth is sticking out further and further and I now have a gap each side of it. I dont smile anymore and when I clean my teeth, that tooth is really sore for quite a while after. I would not call it a toothache though. I know that I am going to lose the tooth eventually but I am petrified at the thought of false teeth. I cannot bear the thought of anything like that in my mouth. So what I would like to know is…..As I cant work through disability and am on benefits, would I be able to get a good reduction on cosmetic dentistry. I could afford to pay something but not a great deal. I would like an implant instead of the tooth I have. Would a dentist remove the tooth for me on request?

Hello, i am 43 and have a lot of bone loss and my teeth are very loose

Q.
Hello, i am 43 and have a lot of bone loss. My dentist reffered me to Guy’s hospital some time ago, but i found it hard to keep up the treatment as i am on my own with two small children and the logistics of getting to and from the hospital where very difficult. often i would turn up and my appointment had not been recorded and i was unable to see a consultant. My teeth are now very loose and i have lost two molars and two pre molars at the top of my jaw and one molar and one pre molar at the bottom. my two remaining molars at the top are extremely painful and loose and i am finding it hard to eat. I am very worried about my front teeth as they are now loose. My hygenist was afraid to carry out any work on them. I would really like some advice as what to do next as i really cannot afford to pay for private treatment. I have been told i will require a bone graft. i am very worried and in a lot of pain. I looked into going abroad for the treatment and my dentist suggested that is what she would do, however, i am now in a worse financial position than i was when we first discussed this. please please if you could offer any suggestions i would really appreciate it. thank you
