Hello, i am 43 and have a lot of bone loss and my teeth are very loose

Q. Hello, i am 43 and have a lot of bone loss. My dentist reffered me to Guy’s hospital some time ago, but i found it hard to keep up the treatment as i am on my own with two small children and the logistics of getting to and from the hospital where very difficult. often i would turn up and my appointment had not been recorded and i was unable to see a consultant. My teeth are now very loose and i have lost two molars and two pre molars at the top of my jaw and one molar and one pre molar at the bottom. my two remaining molars at the top are extremely painful and loose and i am finding it hard to eat. I am very worried about my front teeth as they are now loose. My hygenist was afraid to carry out any work on them. I would really like some advice as what to do next as i really cannot afford to pay for private treatment. I have been told i will require a bone graft. i am very worried and in a lot of pain. I looked into going abroad for the treatment and my dentist suggested that is what she would do, however, i am now in a worse financial position than i was when we first discussed this. please please if you could offer any suggestions i would really appreciate it. thank you

A. Hello

I’m afraid complicated treatment such as this isn’t easy to obtain on the NHS. It might be worth trying to rearrange the treatment at Guy’s as this way you will receive the best treatment without having to pay.
