Hello, I am 20 and completely depressed about the state of my teeth, I feel embarassed, paranoid and have to cover my face to laugh as Im so embarassed. My career means I am always working with the public which makes everything harder. I can barely even eat theyre that bad.
I have very bad gum disease and the gum is receeding at the back of my front teeth, I have already lost most of my back teeth on each side and am in constant discomfort.
I try my hardest cleaning my teeth 3 times a day and used cordysl mouthwash to try n rid myself of gum disease, but as I am diabetic it seems to never heal.
I have also had stomach problems for over a year, which makes me vomit which aalso leads to my teeth weakening.
I know Ill be told I need dentures which I could not live with ,or I could pay for dental implants which I could never afford, I feel like my illnesses have caused all of the problems with my teeth. I have been on a liquid diet for weeks as I can no longer eat most solid food, this also compromises my diabetes. What advice do you have for me?

Monday, March 28th, 2011 i have severe dental problems broken /missing teeth/ inflamed gum/part post still in mouth.
Have CNS illness/taking anti-epeltic drugs /amytryptiline/oxycontin for pain control. Poor nutrition four five years due to illness, had huge impact on dreadfull state of teeth. Health improving! stopped smoking/sugar substitute. Had inhilation sedation for a while and tolerated it brilliantly.Would any dentist be able to help me. My mental health is suffering because i don’t want anybody to see my mouth.
I was very ill after a tooth cracked and gold crown came out, why was this?
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011A year following crowning of a molar with a gold crown my tooth cracked down to the root causing the crown to dislodge and leading to a very bad abscess which had to be drained and the tooth subsequently removed . I was really quite ill over this time. Today I took the offending crown to a place that purchases gold and on thorough testing they found no gold but only base metal. This was a crown from an N.H.S dentist and sold to me as gold. Would it be a reason why I became so unwell and is this common practice to describe a gold crown as such when it is not? I have since had another crown ( porcelain) which has a black mark centraly is this something I should have cause to complain about? Thank yo in advance for your answer
