Could I get implants on the NHS?
I have had to have 13 rear teeth/gold crowns removed due to treatment for throat cancer.
I have tried dentures but continually gag on them. Gaging also causes a problem with heartburn – I have a hiatus hernia.
There is also a problem with lack of saliva which I treat with rubbing Biotene Oral Balance Gel on my gums, but can’t with dentures in.
Would be grateful for your advice.

Can you help my husband who has a severe gagging reflex when dentists touch the back of his mouth?
Monday, March 7th, 2011My husband has a condition which when he has visited the dentist in the past he starts gagging when anything is put near the back of his mouth, as a result of this he has not been to the dentist and his teeth are crumbling and deteriorating to the point that he is in pain and struggling to eat. He would be quite happy to have the remaining teeth taken out and have false teeth, but he is fearful that although he explains the condition to dentists, they immediately start poking about in his mouth making him gag.
