I have a gag reflex and am consequently scared of dentures. Is there any other option?

Q. My dentist has recommended that I have my five front teeth removed at the top and 3 at the bottom and have partial dentures. I would like to have a bridge but as I have protruding teeth he said that the bridge would also protrude. I have a bad gag reflex and am terrified of having dentures and not being able to cope. Please help.,
