Is it normal to accumulate a sticky substance around a new resin filled teeth?

Thursday, September 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I recently chipped one of my front teeth, and yesterday had it filled in (I think with a resin). Since then, I’ve noticed a sticky gunge collecting around it-similar to saliva, but thicker and sticky. Is this normal due to how recently the filling was put in, or do I need to go back to my dentist.

What does pain in cheek and no actual pain in teeth signify?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
Q.
Five months ago I had one of my front teeth removed and a partial pallet fitted. Two days ago I started getting pain in my cheek and now my cheek is swollen. If I smile or try to move my mouth I have severe pain in my cheek and along my top jaw. I am just assuming I have an abcess or infection. I have no actual pain in my teeth. I am terrified of Dentist’s could you please advise me what I should do.

Enquiries on dental consultations

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi My two front teeth protude outwards whilst my incisors next to them also but only slightly. This causes an overbite as the top and bottom jaws dont match up. I have no gaps and was wondering if the Inman aligner or 6 month smile will fix the overbite enough to stop the overlapping. Obviously, I would need a consultation which i dont mind but is there the optiom of free initial consultation so I have an idea of prices and what options are available at your clinic?? Thanks

What is the reason for pain in the teeth?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
Q.
I have toothache in my left front tooth. They were sensitive and I am using the sensodyne pro-namel toothpaste which was gradually making the problem better over time. However a few days ago toothache started in my left front tooth and the sensitivty has almost completely gone away in just the last 2 days since the toothache started. The tooth hurts when i put any small pressure onto it and has grown from mild pain from time to time to constant mild pain. What is wrong and what should I do?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
Q.
I have crooked and mishapen teeth, especially my top six front teeth. I’m trying to decide between lumineers, invisalign, and inman aligners. I’m 18 years old and live in the USA. I’m also a student in college. Cost and time have a big difference in my decision. What information can you give me to help me make my final choice?

How much does it cost for lingual braces?

Sunday, September 20th, 2009
Q.
Hi i am 16 years old and in full time education. I live in wembley, london. Ive always wanted braces to fix the gaps in my teeth. i have about a 1mm gap between the front six teeth at the top, the bottom is perfectly fine, so i would need them fitted only orn the top. I am wondering how much lingual braces would cost ? It would be much appreicated if you could get back to me with some prices and maybe some dentists in my local area which offer this service. Thank you.

Advice on gap between the back of the crowns and gums

Sunday, September 20th, 2009
Q.
I had an absess in my upper gum and even after treatment my tooth began to darken, last year I told my dentist this was a problem as it was at the front of my mouth and showed when I smiled. He chose to fit a crown, this was done last year and although I am getting used to it it still does not feel right. I have just been to a check up and mentioned my concern to my dentist but after checking it he says it is fine. I feel like there is a gap between the back of the crown and my gum and fear food, fizzy drink etc are getting in behind it, is this normal to feel this?

Advice over matching of new and old crowns

Sunday, September 20th, 2009
Q.
I recently broke a piece off a back tooth on which I had root canal treatment a few years ago. Both of my front teeth are crowned and I was also experiencing a little “vibration” in one of them. On visiting my dentist yesterday and after taking x-rays, she says the root canal treatment I had years ago was “incomplete” (it was done at the same practice but by my previous dentist who has now left) but there is no decay so recommends just a crown as there is not enough tooth left to fill. As for the front crown I have an infection for which she is recommending root canal treatment and a new crown. She has quoted me £450 per crown plus £360 for the root canal treatment Initally I thought this sounded very expensive but after a bit of research have accepted these are probably the right prices – however my main concern is that the new crown will match the one next to it? I should be grateful for your opinion on the treatment recommended and the price – and is there a chance they won`t match? Thanks you for your time.
