Will real veneers feel the same as the temporary ones?

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Patel, I have decided to get 6 veneers and got my teeth prepared yesterday. I have now got temporary veneers on. I just wanted to find out whether the real ones will feel the same was as the temporary ones? Currently it feels like I have braces on which is very uncomfortable, I am constantly aware that they are there and they stick out so my mouth sticks out a little and I have to keep remembering to close my mouth. Should this be normal with temporary veneers and will this be the same one I get the real ones in? I am very worried and would be very grateful for an answer. Thanks.

My teeth are very unattractive so would invisible braces or veneers be an options?

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i have hated my teeth all my life and they have always been a problem. I have had two braces (first a retainer then a ‘train track’ brace) my teeth were intially straight whenthe brace first came off but the two they had brought forward had a lot lower gums than the rest which looked very unattractive, i was told that in time the gums would move themselves up. well 5 years later im nearly back to square one the gums have not moved and my teeth have moved back. i would like to know what i can do to gain a nice smile i saw veneers would not be the solution but i feel i deserve a nice ‘hollywood’ looking smile after all ive gone through. would an invisible brace then veneers be an option?

My front two teeth are more prominent than the other what are my options

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hello i have a problem with one of my two front teeth, which is more prominent than the first, the problem for me is simply cosmetic, its very noticable when i smile as a have a broad smile and this particular tooth is noticably more orward than the other, i have also noticed that over the past year or so it seems to be moving more forward is there a possibility to aline so to spek this tooth, or to set straight both of the front teeth? i am 33 years old at present and im certain that this tooth is going to become more and more prominent than the rest of my teeth thank you, i look forward to your reply

My porcelain veneers are fitted very close together Is there a way to fix it?

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Glaister, I had 6 porcelain veneers fitted nearly two years ago to my top front teeth as I had very crooked teeth and large canines. I wasn’t very happy with them when i first saw them but thought that i just needed to get used to them because they were so different to my own teeth. However, after nearly two years i still don’t like them and it’s getting me very down. The reason I don’t like them is because they are fitted very close together and I think this makes them look very fake, and it also means I’m having to floss every time i eat. Is there any way they can be altered without having to replace them, as I really can’t afford to have them done again?
