Will real veneers feel the same as the temporary ones?

Q. Hi Dr Patel, I have decided to get 6 veneers and got my teeth prepared yesterday. I have now got temporary veneers on. I just wanted to find out whether the real ones will feel the same was as the temporary ones? Currently it feels like I have braces on which is very uncomfortable, I am constantly aware that they are there and they stick out so my mouth sticks out a little and I have to keep remembering to close my mouth. Should this be normal with temporary veneers and will this be the same one I get the real ones in? I am very worried and would be very grateful for an answer. Thanks.

A. The change in shape in your mouth can take a while approx 5-7 days to get used to.  The temps are all joined together so feel like a mouthguard whereas the final veneers will all be individual.  Feel free to email me if you have any more concerns.   if after a few days they still feel uncomfortable please go and see your dentist and tell him / her, do not have the permanent ones fitted until you are happy with the temps.
