Q.
My daughter is 17.When I was pregnant I was told that my 2 previous pregnancies had caused my teeth to become loose, the young dentist told me it had been a calcium deficiency,so by the time he was born it was too late to save them. so for the last 16 years i have had to live with a complete top denture, I have lived with these horrible dentures, Is it to late to have implants? I live in Dorset so I would need to find some one near, I have had enough, I have lived with this long enough, please can you give me some advise. yours sincerley

Ive been told i need get my canines removed and after 6 months get the implant is it correct?

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi I have gum recession and due to a prior orthodontic surgery (in which the roots of my 2 canines were cut off) my canines are loose. I have been told that I should get these removed, have gum grafting and also some bone grafting above the canines then after 6 months get the implants put in (will have a false tooth plate in mean time). My periodontist assures me that with this treatment I should get my smile back and the implants will last as long as a regular tooth. My query is how much would this cost in UK (i am an expat overseas and have been quoted £8000 for the above) but I am from Uk and will be returning shortly I would get alloplastic grafting here but have been told auto is the way to go is this true? Is the 6 months necessary?

My dentist has given me a price of just under 6000 GBP for a smile makeover is it reasonable

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hello Rob, I have been saving for ages to get a smile makeover. My local Smilestudio denist has given me a price of just under £6000. This involves one upper bridge, two crowns, two lower bridges, root canal, filling, whitening, and maybe some veneers. Does this seem reasonable to you? Thanks

I have my retainer but there are gaps when I smile can I get implants to fill in these gaps

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I wanted to look into dental implants for two of my back top teeth. I had a brace and when I got it fitted they told me that my jaw was to small for the amount of teeth i had and they took two teeth from either top sides out. After this I still wear my retainer but there are gaps when I smile on both of the sides where they took the teeth! Also the two teeth behind are the only teeth I have fillings in and I don’t like to smile because they are now visible, so I’m looking into getting them replaced with Implants? I am a student so I was wondering how I would know a good dental place to go without it costing me a fortune??? Thanks,Am I too young as I have only just turned 20?

Due to my grinding habit i feel my bridges is coming loose any advice or suggestions

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
Last year I had a bridge fitted. The dentist used only the tooth to the right of the gap to fit the bridge to. However, whilst it looks good i find it most uncomfortable. I have been told that I am a heavy grinder although I didnt realise I did grind my teeth until this bridge was fitted and I find I am constantly grindnig on this bridge. Whereas before I was told that I only ground my teeth at night. I feel the bridge is coming loose as I can feel it moving slightly at times and when I floss underneath it I sometimes feel like I have slightly put it out of place but it usually goes back to normally within a few minutes. I would like it replaced or maybe refitted to both teeth either side instead of just the one on the right of it. The gap is, on my right side, the 3rd from my front tooth and the bridge is fitted to the 4th tooth to my right. Any advice or suggestions would be great, but I couldnt afford an implant, so thats out of the question for me. Many thanks for your help

I am very unhappy with the look with my crown and ive receding gums can you advice

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
When i was young i fell in school banged my front teeth, one came out and put back in which was fine but the other front tooth next to it discoloured,it hasd a root canal done. After years of treatment at london Hospital tooth was fine, but when i went to my regular dentist when 18 he suggested to cap it, and did. I knew nothing of the treatment, it was done, but i am extremely unhappy with the look, especially with receding gums and the metal showing. I have been looking at other options which i was made unaware of veener rather than capping or bleeching the tooth, now am scared i will lose my tooth and am losing sleep over it, and it is really depressing me. I hate this capping and re-capping process and am unsure it he has put in a post before capping it, i doubt he has. i just want comfortable good looking front teeth that will last rather than look horrible with gums receding or other complications, am only 24 yet, it is quite disheartening.
