The edge of my capped and veneered teeth is now badly stained. Can you advise on a treatment to replace this?

Thursday, October 28th, 2010
Q.
I had a cap and 4 enamel veneers fitted on the NHS about 15 years ago The edges of these are now badly stained and look awful ! I know it’s likely that I will need to pay for this to be rectified or at least look better. Can you suggest what treatment options there are to cure this. Also I’m not in a great financial position at the moment so I need it to be as inexpensive as possible. Thanks,

My teeth are in a bad state after accident playing cricket. Could I get my lower teeth capped so they don’t protrude?

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
Q.
Hello Many years ago I had my front four teeth skittled by a cricket ball, which resulted in me having to wear a gum stripper plate. Also the two teeth either side have been capped. My bottom teeth have started to protrude over the years, which has ment that the upper plate teeth has been adjusted also. End result is a very unhappy me, with unsightly smile. I think the best course is to get the lower teeth all capped so they dont protrude, then either a bridge built over the top front gum (possible couple of inplants) ? Is this feesable? Many thanks ,

The gums around my capped teeth has recessed. What can be done to treat this area?

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have both my upper front teeth capped, one was cracked in half when I was about 12 & then the other when I was about 21 (I’m 34 now). The implants themselves have been fine but gums have recessed around them & the teeth appear black at the top. I wanted to ask you please for your advice on how much new capped or implants would cost? & how to treat the area around the teeth?. Many thanks.,

Dentist has recommended clear fixed braces for my irregular bite, but could I instead have something like veneers or crowns?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
i am writing hoping you can give me some advise. i have visited an orthodontic dentist and they have the recommended the following treatment for me. This is what i was told i have an irregularity of the top teeth and irregularity of the bottom teeth. when the teeth bite together the top front teeth are prominent than average this called an increased overjet. My overjet is 5mm. The vertical overlap of the front teeth is increased. The top front teeth are centred and the bottom front teeth are across to the right. The side teeth do not mesh together perfectly. My examination of the jaw shap shows the bottom jaw is smaller than average such that in profile the chin is slightly receding. X rays confirmed that i have a number of missing teeth. The x ray also shows that the upper right second preomalr is impacted and unerupted. I can have fixed clear braces for the best results but would like to know if there is alternative treatment like veneers crowns etc,

I was down to get crowns but now dentist who replaced normal one says I should get dentures. Can I get crowns instead?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi,i went to the dentist today and found that my dentist had gone on maternity leave and been replaced by another for a while, but i was given a treatment plan to have crowns fitted other work done, but when i saw this dentist she ignored what i wanted to have done and said that i should get a denture fitted and remove the teeth instead,i am very upset as my original dentist had promised there was nothing wrong with the roots of the teeth to have crowns as she had done a xray, but on my visit today i was told to have denture fitted without having an xray done to see if it was necessary and was felt bullied into getting impressions done and paying 495 pounds for a denture which i do not want what can i do please help thanks.,

How long after root canal should I get crown treatment?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
I’ve had root canal on my upper L6. How long does this keep for before I need to go for crown treatments? I’m worried because my dentist explained the tooth is now very fragile, and I’m due to go away for a couple of months. Thanks,

How much would implants be to replace my baby teeth on my lower jaw?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi There… I am 23 and have a baby tooth on either side of my lower set of teeth with no adult teeth underneath. one had decayed with the root left in the gum and the other is still intact but the gum is receeding. i have seen a few dentists who have suggested implants. i have been getting conflicting information regarding implants so I just had a few questions… how long are implants expected to last? approximately how much can i expect to pay? how do i look after them once they are in place? Thank you for your help.,
