My tooth have cracks and I have gum recession. Any advice would be appreciated?

Q.
Dr Solanki, Im very worried about my teeth as i have a few issues. They are all cracked and erroading away. they feel wobbily, and i haave a bad night grinding problem. i visited a few dentists, who just seemed to want to make money off me, rather than actually addressing the problems. ive lost 5mm on both sets of teeth. I have visible cracks that are getting worse. My gums are also bad due to receeding. My last dentist jsut said that they wernt as bad as i thought , cleaned them and that was it. every so oftern i get shards of tooth break away inn my mouth, and as mentioned earlier, they are geting more and more wobbily and ground down. My dentist told me that capping could be a possible opton, but not without embracing a whole load of other issues too. im not getting very far with reegards to diagnosing issues and possible treatment. any advice would be very much appreciated. thank and regards,

Can my wife receive cheaper treatment?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki – My wife (32) has suffered in the past with bilemia (from 13 to approx 25 yrs old), and this has caused her terrible probelms with her teeth. She has lost most of her back teeth and her front teeth are very weak with fillings and cracked in places, which to some extent has caused her to be depressed resulting in mild return of the eating disorder. She/we are on benefits (child tax credits) but we both are also working and she holds an NHS card – we unfortunately just cannot afford to have the neccessary dental work done, quoted at £7k, can you please give us any advice on how and if we could recieve and help from the NHS or where we might find treatment cheaper?,

My dentist didn’t explain what veneers were before he prepped my teeth and then I did’t want them. My teeth are now a mess. What can I have done?

Q.
hi a few years ago i fell on ice and cracked tiny pieces off the inside outer edges of my two front teeth my dentist just stuck filling stuff in them but they kept coming loose and everytime they came out seemed to take pieces of my natural teeth with them.. he then decided i would proberley need veneers i was only 16 and didnt know what they were i thought it was some kind of brace he never explained it was a tooth cover. he had already taken of the top coat of enamel weeks before i had seen these venners that i didnt want and when i told him i still didnt want them he said it was too late because he had prepped my teeth.. so i went too a different denist and he has just coated my teeth for now with filling to protect them.. i had beautiful straight white teeth before this and now they are a total mess but still have good shape is there anything i can have done and should/could i complain thanks,

Would mid-range dentures last okay?

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010
Q.
I am sponsoring a 21 year old girl from Tanzania for 4 months. She is in pain and a dentist said she has little or no enamel on all teeth ie. she needs crowns on all, has multiple cavities and cracks or will need dentures. Since once she returns, there will be no dental care, my concern is that teeth can decay under crowns and eventually be worthless. Would dentures be best? Since we are fundraising and I will be doing most of the bill unexpectedly, is there a huge difference in price? I don’t want low end dentures as this is her only shot, but I can’t afford artistically done high end ones either. So would mid range dentures last? Many thanks and blessings.,

I’m sure they will last ok
