Can I get teeth shaved to a more aesthetically pleasing angle?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Bohara, Perhaps you can offer me some advice? When I was 8, I knocked the tip off of one of my top front centre teeth. The other one is slightly long, but this looks even more pronounced by the chipped one next to it. Now, Im no dentist (obviously haha), but if you could get a big file and make the front 4 teeth all the same length, it’d be perfect and I’d be over the moon. Putting an angle grinder in my mouth seems a bit extreme, so I’d be interested to hear what you can suggest. Also, what would I expect to pay for this in the UK? I am in Dundee in Scotland Thank you very much indeed for any advice you can offer me! Kindest regards,

Will I need to pay for broken teeth removale before getting braces?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
my teeth are broken back teeth, some back teeth have completely come out, this happened during my three pregnancies, i want to consider a brace as my fronth teeh is slightly more forward than the next one and also i have a upper tooth slightly behind the rest of my teeth, if that makes sense, wcould i just go for the brace or will i need to seek attention for the broken teeth? which i had done so but its very costly, id rather just pay for the brace, as im very self conscious.,

I have been told by my dentist that i do not have enough bone to hold my teeth in unless I see a specialist, my problem is that this treatment will cost over £900 which we are unable to afford, is there anything else I can do to help my situation,

Q.
I am 18 years old and have previously worn a brace as a child, however i did not wear my retainer, therefore my teeth have moved, one in particular that is one of my front teeth. I know it is impossible to give me an exact quote as all cases are different but i hope you can give me a ruff estimate on how much an Inman Aligner would cost to help fix the one tooth that botheres me most. Thankyou,Kind regards.

With a flurosis front teeth can I have composite to make it look natural?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009
Q.
Dear Mr Solanki, I have a problem with my two front teeth whereby they are quite mottled/fluorosis. The rest are white and straight. I wonder if it would be possible for this to be disguised with composite to look natural. I dont want the shape of the teeth to change – ideally i wouldnt want it to look obvious that anything had been done. Do u offer this service in your practice and what sort of price would i be looking at for these 2 teeth to be treated in this way to blend in with the others. I would really appreciate your advice, thank you

Is it necessary to have veneer for protruding right incisor?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009
Q.
My upper left incisor is slightly discoloured and worn. The right incisor is slightly protruding. My current dental prectioner is Luton has shaped the tooth and prepped it for a veneer (yesterday). There is sensitivity in the tooth. I’m not enthusiastic about veneers, as he has already veneered the canine tooth to the left of the incisor he has prepped. The cost of venner is £400. He would like to veener the protruding right adjacent incisor, however I have refused to veneer a healthy tooth. So he has suggested contouring. Shouldn’t I just have had the left incisor contoured and not veneered?

Can kids have Invisalign treatment?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009
Q.
I was wanting invisiline and i was just wondering if invisline was for kids too. Also, for the majority, i have straight teeth, but there is this one crooked tooth that is in the bottom jaw towards the front and it is a little worse then the picture that is on the main website home page. Not as bad though. I was just wondering if invisiline will work for my tooth.
