What is the best treatment to treat relapsed teeth?

Friday, February 19th, 2010
Q.
I am 29 and have a gap in the front of my teeth as a result of relapse from orthodontic treatment nearly 15 years ago, and i’m looking to get it fixed, given that i paid privately, I’m reallly keen not to pay a serious amount of money to get this work done. THe Dentist has retired, my records hae gone as has the surgery. How much should i be paying for such treatment and which options may be suitable. (I had ceramic, but not keen for those again, nor train tracks. Any others would be ok, but more pricey. Would you be able to advise on my best options and advise a guidline of what is a typical cost for this. I still have a plastic clear retainer, but have not used it for 10 years, I am frightened of it breaking and tehn I will be back to square one.,

Is 3k a reasonable price for clearstep braces?

Friday, January 22nd, 2010
Q.
I have had several dental opinions and have been quoted 3k for fixed ceramic braces which I will need to wear for approx a year. Is this quote reasonable? I have been to have moulds and xrays and have been told that my case is too severe for Inmans or Clear Steps.,

Is there a cheap orthodontic option?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I have had 2 consultations now regarding orthodontic treatment with 2 different dentists. I have been told that what i want to achieve is a minor case. But clearstep or invisalign are coming out very expensive and fixed braces a little less. Could a minor case not be treated with a removable appliance to reduce cost, or are there and other alternatives at a lower cost? Many Thanks,

I have loads of question between Clearstep & Invisalign.

Monday, December 7th, 2009
Q.
CLEARSTEP VS INVISALIGN I have a few questions about ‘invisible braces’: What are the differences between the two? How long will it take? I have been prompted to take action as I am getting married at the end of the year and although from the front my teeth look quite straight from the side they look really uneven. If I started it asap would it make much difference by December? I am happy to continue for longer, I would just like some difference by then. How much does it cost? Which one is more cheap/expensive? Are the effects lasting? I had a metal brace as a teenager that improved my teeth a bit but I don’t think it was kept on long enough. I would be willing to wear a retainer if it keeps my teeth nice. Is Clearstep a suitable alternative to cases where Invisalign would work? Does Clearstep require attachments to the teeth the same as Invisalign? Could you suggest me a good professional cosmetic dentistry expert in Oxford? Thank you in advance for your attention,

Is there any possibility to extract as many teeth to hv avg smile?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009
Q.
As an early teen I had chipped the top, front 6 of my teeth rollerblading. They felt loose for a while and had always bothered me the way they healed. It bothers me how my front teeth are displayed slightly misaligned to my left and with an overbite as well. The Army Dentist insisted on putting veneers over them. That never did anything to fix the misalignment problem of the front two top teeth being aligned under my nose. It seems the injury I must have suffered as a kid made the teeth grow in this way after they healed. I am disappointed and finished with the idea of trying to salvage my smile at this point in my life. I am wondering if you may be able to let me know if there is a possibility that there is a Dentist out there that would extract my front, top 6 teeth or as many as needed to have an average looking smile that is aligned under my nose. Thanks very much

What would be the treatment for having invisible braces?

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi dr rob…. I am now 27 and had a number of removable braces from the age of 14-16 than a fixed brace from 16 till I was nearly 19. I was really happy with the results, but shortly after having this removed my bottom teeth all crossed over again. I did visit my orthodontist about this but told ne at the time all they could do would be to file each tooth down then put a fixed brace on again. I was concerned about the health of my teeth filing them so did not go ahead. Since I have remained unhappy with my teeth but thought there was nothing that could be done, until I heard recently about invisable braces. I would like to look into this but feel that as the job wasn’t done properly in the first place that to pay for this now would be unfair. My top teeth have now also moved since I have a wisdom tooth coming through, and now I am feeling unhappy with these also. I was also told I would never get any wisdom teeth!! What would be your suggestion for how I go treatment from here?? Kind regards

I am very nervous, what are my options to close the gap in my teeth

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have the first two molars, on lower jaw, taken out by dentist when I was 13yrs of age,(no room for teeth he said) This was very bad experience and ended in hospital. Now unfortunatly I have just found out I have to have 3rd molar taken out, bottom right. I trust my dentist. She has given me choice of ,living with large gap, a denture or inplant. I dont realy want huge gap as allready a bit consoius of exsisting one. But I am very nervous of the surgery required for inplant as well as high cost. Does it hurt as the drilling into jaw sounds quiet bad. I dont want to be given another bad experience. I am 42 and dont want an awful looking mouth

One of my front teeth is twisted out of position so that from the side

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi, One of my front teeth is twisted out of position so that from the side, it looks like it is poking out and a 2mm gap can be seen. From the front no gap can be seen. The other teeth are relatively straight. What options do you think I have for straightening this one tooth? I don’t want braces as I am a teacher. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
