Is it possible to have lost enamel replaced?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010
Q.
my teeth are in really bad condition and i have lost most of my top set along the sides through grinding in my sleep.im struggling to chew properly and have been using the two front ones for most of it.now the enamel on my front two teeth has started to break down and im worried these two are going are going to snap now.is there a way to replace the enamel with something else or will i need to dentures or implants?im 33 and dont even smile now because its noticable.i only ask about replacing the enamel as money is extremely tight at the moment and the cost of dentures or implants is totally beyond me yet i still dont qualify for nhs dentistry.any suggestions you have would be extremely appreciated.many thanks,

How can I prevent two front teeth from chipping?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
Q.
Sorry for the email but I made this email when I was a kid. Anyways this is my question I’m 15 years old and my 2 front teeth recentely started chipping for no apprent reason, I drink water, milk and I eat hardly any junkfood. I think I grind my teeth at night maybe that’s why they’re breaking? Any suggestions on how to stop the 2 front teeth from chipping?,

Is treatment necessary if there is no pain?

Monday, January 18th, 2010
Q.
hi, I slightly chipped a lower back tooth around a year ago. this tooth has a filling in it. a previous dentist said if it is not affecting me it can be left as my tooth would have to be drilled to replace the filling and smooth out the chip; which it is not affecting me. I recently went back to see another dentist and he said that i need the filling sorted to cover the chip as infections can go into the part that is showing the filling which can cause problems. I have no issues with the tooth and I do not want my tooth to be drilled further to make a larger filling to fit round the chip. does it really need doing if I am not in any pain? thatnks,

Can chipped dental crown be restored?

Monday, January 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi there, I have a front crown thats chipped and theres a little piece missing. I don’t have the funds to redo another crown by private dentistry. Was wondering if the missing part that is chipped can be restored with filling material or something?,

My veneer chipped, and I was wondering What the dentist would do to fix it. If it is replaced, How many times can you actually replace a veneer?,

Q.
I just about an hour ago chipped me front tooth. It’s a small chip. I was hoping you could maybe give me a ball park price to get it repaired.

Is 16 years not eligible to have veneers?

Friday, December 4th, 2009
Q.
I was wondering if it is possible to get veneers on the nhs, as i had 2 accidents over the years and on each, chipped both my front teeth. At the moment I have caps on them both but one fell off and was put back on so that it sticks forward. The caps are also discoloured and noticible when you look at them. I was told by my dentist that when i reached 16 i could have veneers, yet when i asked at my last appointment he dismissed the question. I am now nearly 17 and have no confidence in my smile, i cannot smile with teeth and it gets me down. If i am not entitled to get veneers on the nhs then how much would it cost per tooth? the 2 teeth on either side of my front teeth are also very wonky aswel and i have gaps in these 4 teeth aswel as the discoloured and wonky caps.

Chipped tooth has a temporary filling can I have veneers on it?

Friday, November 20th, 2009
Q.
My toddler ran at me with a heavy toy and chipped my top front tooth so it’s on the diagonal. I have had a temporary filling from an emergency NHS dentist. ( I’ve never had a filling before so know nothing about the proceedure etc. ) I saw my dentist today and he informs me that he will be able to do a new filling and make it look like a normal tooth. The rest of the tooth is fine. He said I won’t need a veneer, although could have one done later. I am worried the filling won’t be strong enough (my dentist said I would have to be careful biting into apples etc) What should I do. At the moment I’m finding the temporary filling very wierd and uncomfortable. Would a veneer be a better option or should I stick with the filling?
