My new bridge doesnt match my other teeth again. What is your advice?

Q.

Hi. I had an old NHS 3unit bridge that was done very poorly and didn’t match in proportion with my other teeth. I recently had this unit replaced by a private cosmetic dentist and she promised that she would have the teeth match and be in proportion. I went to have to bridge fitted and the bridge looks like the one before, however as I was completely numb I couldn’t talk, and she was running late and rushing, she fitted it and I promptly left. I rang the next day to see if something could be done and I think she may ‘shave’ one of the teeth down. Do you know were I may stand in getting the bridge redone as i’m not happy with it and I feel she hasn’t kept her promise? I paid £2000 and could never afford this again I saved for a very long time just to have it fitted again. Thankyou.

I have cracked my bridge, can I have it glued or should I get implants?

Q.

Hi
I have bridge that spans 7 teeth, front lower jaw. I have had this since the age of 19 and I am now 45. I had to have this bridge as 4 second teeth that did not appear, so had milk teeth until the age of 19. I have just cracked my bridge in the centre and its feels a little loose. Can this be “glued” or mended, or will I have to have implants?. Back when I was 19 I was able to get this on the NHS as it was deemed to be medical rather than cosmetic. Is this still a possibility?, if not can you give be a rough cost per implant, abutment and crown.

Many thanks

Jenny

Can anything be done about a ‘weak area’ near my sinus tract?

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011
Q.

22 years ago I had a bridge on on top front teeth; 3 years later i had some problems which meant surgery over the top of the bridge – apersectomy? Very quickly there was some gum recesssion, which has got worse over the last few years – the metal from the bridge was exposed. A composite has now been appiled – slightly better but I remain self conscious. I have lived with a sinus tract over the area since 1989 – my NHS dentist helps me by ” leaving alone” – I get by with occassional discomfort. Because the area is ” weak” can anything be done? Feel a bit depressed over it. Live in Flixton and saw your web page
