Sunday, March 22nd, 2009
Q.
Hi i have a constant build up of tartar on the front bottom teeth and it gathers in a slightly recessed gum even after one day, also notice bad tasting mouth within an hour of a good brush and mouth rinse. was thinking of purchasing a ionic toothbrush as a start, also my dentist said to brush the problem area in a clockwise circular motions to remove tartar but does not really help. also find it hard flossing the back teeth, when i do they normally bleed and smell quite bad probably the food debris etc. thanks

I suffered from Bulimia my teeth are now in a bad way

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009
Q.
I suffered from Bulimia when in my teens, early 20s from which i have now thankfully recovered from. As a result it’s left my top front teeth (6 of them) in quite a bad way, the enamal from behind has all gone and they are quite sensitive. My dentist put some temporary cover on them last summer because i said they were abit sensitive but they chipped, fell away after a while. Im so worried that they are going to rot and fall out. What solutions are open for me? Would veneers be an option? Are they expensive? Having negative equity in a house sale and split from my husband i dont really have much money to play around with. I would talk to my dentist (nhs) about this but im abit embarrased to, they never really put me at ease and im really really scared of the dentist. Please would you be able to answer as soon as possible because im quite worried out this. Thank you for your time.

I have been suffering from a very bad odur coming from my two crowns

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009
Q.
I have been suffering from a very bad odur coming from my two crowns for almost 4 years now. Three months ago one came up in a abscess for which root canal treatment was done. This seemed to eradicate the bad odur from that particular crown, however the bad smell still remains in the other. I am sure that there is some kind of infection however after an xray my dentist isnt sure. I am thinking about having a root canal treatment done on the other crown or possibly having both removed and bridged. This has really effected my life. Any suggestions would be welcome, thank you.

My teeth have now become an off white colour

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi there, Im 18 years old and lack self confidence due to the effects on my teeth from poor diet and lack of oral hygeine in the past. My teeth have now become an off white colour and have like whiter stains near the tops. i also have a few decaying spots on the top of two of my teeth towards the front. I am so embarrassed about them, i dont like to smile, i have even found myself mumbling when i am talking so that i am not revealing the full extent of my teeth. This is beggining to depress me now especially due to my age, I dont like socialising as much with my friends do due to the embarrasment, this also puts me off visiting a dentist! I am worried of what he/she may think of me. What treatment do you think is required and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

my teeths enamel has worn away

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i have noticed my teeth’s enamel has worn away slightly on the bottom half of my two front teeth leaving grey patches and are quite sensitive. i don’t really want to get veneers as the upper half of my front teeth are in good condition. My dentist put it down to a combination of tetracycline medicine used for a long time, fruit juice and over brushing i was just wondering what the best option would be to repair the grey areas i asked about white fillings placed behind the teeth, but i heard you cant have them if your bottom teeth bite behind your top teeth is this true? and also i have been using home whitening trays will this remove enamel due to acidity? cheers
