What is the Cheapest Way to Restore my Whole Mouth?

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016
Q.

I have been offered the All-on-4 treatment for £5500 as I have no teeth in the upper jaw. It is in the UK in Luton. Is this a good price and can this practice do it for the said price? I also only have 4 teeth in the lower jaw.The remaining teeth are not that good but they are strong. Could you please give me your expert advice on the cheapest way to restore my whole mouth? I am even willing to let postgraduate students to do some of the work if it would help both parties to achieve their full potential. Thanks.

Why Does My New Denture Give Me a Sunken In Appearance?

Monday, April 20th, 2015
Q.

I had an all-on-four procedure done almost two years ago now. The dentist has had me in for repeated try-ins of the final denture but it doesn’t look right. The upper denture makes me look like I have a sunken in appearance with no teeth showing. It makes me look old and toothless. Can you tell me why, and what might correct this? The dentist is a really nice guy but I’m really embarrassed by my appearance. They also have a lot more material on them than I was expecting. I was shown a completely different denture that fit against my gums without all the extra acrylic in my mouth. Help please!

I Have Conflicting Consultations On How Many Implants I Should Have? It Has Left Me Confused.

Monday, September 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, I hope you can help with me with my enquiry. I have had two estimates for the all-on-4 implants for my upper jaw. One clinic has quoted me £12000 for the all-on-4 and another has quoted the same price but he says he wants to do All-on-6. I am confused as to which is best is the best option. The all-on-4 guy said I didn’t need any more than four implants to be successful but the All-on-6 guy said he likes to place six and this makes me confused. Both clinics seemed professional enough and they only do implants. Can you help or advise me about a clinic near Liverpool or Manchester? I don’t need a bone graft. I am finding this to be a bit of a nightmare. Thank you I hope you can help.

Can I Have Implants To Keep My Dentures In Place, Through The NHS?

Monday, August 12th, 2013
Q.

I have no teeth at all. I have lost them through poor hygiene after many years of depression and after being hassled to get them sorted I went to the local dentist only to have them all removed and replaced with dentures. I have been trying these for a while now and every time I wear them I get serious headaches up through my temple areas and across my fore head. I understand that using them takes patience and practice but no matter what product I use I still can’t eat any food with them in. as a result I haven’t been able to eat any solid food since I had them done. I understand also that you cannot have them on the nhs, only in certain circumstances. I am hopeful though that maybe you can advice me on my best course of action, whether or not I can have a minimum number of implants that will help secure these things so I can try to eat solid food again. The food problem is the most important thing for me at the moment but I also haven’t been able to leave my home since having them as it is causing me more problems than just not eating. I am desperate for any help/advice you can share with me. Thank you.

How can I wear dentures when they are so painful?

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012
Q.

Dr Hughes, due to having no back teeth, I have a problem with my jaw and after 3 sets of dentures find it impossible to wear them. I am being fitted with a gum shield for night usage. I do still have my own front teeth top and bottom. I suffer from severe jaw pain and I’m on painkillers every day. My own dentist thought implants would be fitted but the hospital is trying out the shield. How would this help me to wear my dentures as I also have a gagging reflex so I am worried about this. Can you help me to understand this? What road would you take as my dentist in this? Thank you.

Can I have dental implants instead of dentures?

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012
Q.

I have upper/lower dentures I got them last year in November (never wore them they make me talk funny can’t eat and always sucking up) Can I get these changed to implants instead? I don’t like how they make me suck in and I don’t like the adhesive glue the lower ones hurt so I have been eating with my gums for a year now they are a little tender. I need something that is not going to make me feel uncomfortable, smile better and allow me to eat comfortably without worrying about them coming a loose or coming out.
