I cannot get braces on the NHS anymore, but I’ve been looking at six month smiles. Is this my best option?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Q.
Hi there, i am a 17 year old looking into getting my teeth straightened something that should have been done when i was about 14 but i was never taken back to a dentist then. I recently went back and registered at a dentist where i was told my teeth were very healthy but I cannot get braces on the NHS anymore. Could the reason be because it’s purely cosmetic? I am looking into six month smiles and i have recently been told i have TMJ i am wondering if undergoing this treat ment will agrivate it? Thirdly (sorry) i have naturally discoloured teeth would a whitening help this or would something like veneers be my only option? Thanks :),

Are there any options to sort my teeth before I get married in May?

Monday, August 23rd, 2010
Q.
I am getting married in May next year. I was in the process of getting 6 month smiles. After the impressions were taken I was told the upper part of my mouth has overcrowding of 13mm and the lower 9mm. I was told it may not be possible to have make the space needed and have the results wanted in time for the wedding. I’m wondering if there are any other options to at least improve my smile. Veneers, filling material etc. The wedding is booked and I really dont want my photos ruined by my teeth or me not smiling. Thanks.,

Would the 6 month smile treatment affect my crown in any way?

Friday, August 6th, 2010
Q.
I have been looking into cosmetic dentistry and feel the 6 month smile may be what I need in order to fix my crooked teeth, the only concerns of mine are cost and also, I have a crown and one of my teeth is only half mine! -the lower half is false, where it had decayed in younger years, will this affect the treatment?,

Will treatments such as Six Month Smiles or Invisalign ever be be available on the NHS?

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi, will either 6 month smiles or invisalgin ever be available on the nhs? I have heard that 6 month smiles are both cheaper and quicker than the braces that you can get on the nhs, while this may not be correct, if it is, will they ever be available on the nhs? Thanks.,

Will bonding have bad effects on my tooth enamel?

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010
Q.
I am considering 6 month smile treatment after rejecting Clearstep for both cost and length of treatment. Is there any possibility that this new treatment can have an adverse effect on the tooth enamel as it is ‘bonded’ onto the teeth? I’m 55 if that makes any difference.,

Are there any other discreet alternatives to invisalign braces?

Friday, July 30th, 2010
Q.
Hello there, i really need to straighten my teeth, however i dread to have conventional braces as I am at an age which i think it will look embarassing! I work in a senior role which involves presentations and I am becoming very conscious about my teeth, I had braces when i was young but my dentist did not do a good job! I am thinking invisalign, i did visit one dentist and he said it would not be possible with my teeth without a good reason. Waht do i do, are there any other discreet options. Help please. Thanks,
