Should I have my polyp removed and be treated with veneers or braces?

Q.
Hello. I have what my dentist describes as a polyp on my upper inside lip which gets caught between the quite large gap between my two front teeth. They also protrude a little. This can be embarrassing and sore when speaking. My dentist suggested that I could have the polyp removed but unless I had two veneers on the front teeth it would probably return. Would this be a sensible course of action to undertake in your opinion or would a brace be more suitable? The front teeth are large to begin with. Thank you for your advice.

In general orthodontics is a much less invasive procedure than veneers, but it may not be suitable for you. I’d definitely go for an opinion about the braces options first before committing to anything that involves any loss of tooth structure, as veneers often do, and then you can make a much more informed decision

all the best
