should i have laser or gel whitening

Q. I would like to know which method you recommend for teeth whitening, laser or gel? What are the pros and cons of the two? Many thanks in advance

A. I would recommend the gel whitening. Laser whitening is really njust a gimmick. The light used is not a laser, it is is a light that produces heat which heats the gel placed on the teeth. This breaks the gel down and causes the whitening process to occur. Due to the fact that the whitening gel works so fast it does cause dehydration of the teeth. This makes the teeth appear whiter than they are for a couple of days and can lead to some sensitivity. It is completely safe but it may not give you the end result that you want.

The home gel is a weaker bleach which is why you have to use it for longer. Usually you have to usew the home trays for 45mins a day for 2 weeks. Although the procedure takes longer the results are better and last longer. Home whitening gel is less expensive than the in surgey whitening
I hope this helps
Kind regards
