My teeth are not aligned after having my braces taken off, is this my orthodontists fault?

Q. I recently got my braces off. My teeth are not aligned. My top and bottom row do not meet. I have to pull my lower row for my teeth to sit. Is this my ortho fault? What would he suggest to correct this problem.,
A. I think you are a ittle confused. The ideal- correct occlusion (way you bit together) is the top teeth should be slightly over your bottom teeth. They shouldn’t meet like an edge-to-edge bite. Some people’s teeth do, but this isn’t ideal as over time, the teeth are worn away and can become very short- not to mention be sensitive etc. It sounds as though your orthodontist has corrected your teeth into a perfect position. Hope this has helped.
