My teeth are black and I don’t want a crown

Q. I am 25 yrs lady. I had an accident and front 3 teeth got fractured .I had root canal done that time (10yrs back ) and teeth bonding done on 2 of the teeth . After 2-3 yrs all the three teeth started getting black. I did’t consult doctor after that .Few days back i went to doc and without checking anything he said that its better u go for Crown. I am not mentally prepared for crown because i don\’t want to grind my teeth. Is it ok if i would go for bonding again or veener ? Doctor says that crown keep the teeth strong.Is it the fact ? What is the problem if i go for Veener? Please suggest me something ..i really don\’t want to go for crown.

A. If the teeth are very dark then it may be that a veneer would not give you the cosmetic result you are looking for ie. There may be some show through of the underlying dark colour that a crown may prevent.

I would discuss your concerns with your dentist and he will let you know if it is possible to mask the colour via a veneer

Thanks a lot for the response.I got my veneer on 3teeth but i am n’t happy with it because doctor shaved my tooth and i have nery little tooth left .1st day night only i veneer fell out and next day morning doctor fix that again but i am always in tension that how long it would last if it can came out one day .I lost my faith now.It would have better if i would have gone for composite bonding.i know that doesn’t come out.Cen i go for Composite bonding later if my veneer come out in future coz i can’t go always to doctor to fix it .I need a permant solution .Please help me out

hello my problem is that i have what i think is called butterfly teeth i was wondering the best treatment to have to fix them i do not like veeners the idea of having teeth shave down scares me.
