My son has a chipped tooth in the front and it has rotted and is turned black how can i fix it

Q. Hi there…My son is just 14 years old and has a chipped tooth in the front! It has rotted and is turned black at the bottom! He really dislikes it and would like it replaced!!Were not sure of what to do about it!Would it be able to be replaced with a new tooth or what could be done?

A. If a patient has extensive decay in a front tooth at 14 the priority is removing the decay and filling the tooth. Controlling the cause of the extensive decay is likely to be diet related eg snacks and sweet drinks
