My recent fillings are causing me pain, any advice?

Q. Hello, Two/three weeks ago I had three fillings put in, however since then I have had really sensitive teeth (just on the teeth that the fillings went in to). I went back to my dentist and she said they were a little to high and filed them down. But this hasn’t seem to work and I can’t even bite on the teeth as it hurts so much, It also causes me pain when I have cold or hot drinks. Is there something wrong with the fillings? Should I visit another dentist for advice. Many thanks for your advice in advance.

A. Deep filling can sometimes take a good few weeks to settle down. I would go back to the dentist who did the fillings for you and tell them that you are still in a lot of pain. They should be able to get you out of this discomfort. There is always a risk of damaging the nerve in teeth where deep filling are required so i would definately seek advice from your dentist.
