My new veneers look too large and bulky, what should I do?

Q.
I had 2 porcelain veneers fitted 18 yrs ago and i have just recently had them removed to get them replaced as i was unhappy with colour/appearance of them.
My 2 front teeth are in surprisingly good condition and i am actually happy with them as they are but my dentist tells me i need the new veneers fitted as my teeth are prepared for them and too thin to be without veneers.
I have seen the new veneers and i think they look too big, bulky and wide when they were placed on my teeth so am going back to the technician in the hope he can make them thinner and less bulky.
What is the thinnest a veneer can be (bearing in mind only a small amount of tooth surface was shaved off my teeth) and can veneers be pretty much the same size as my own teeth?
I look forward to your expert opinion.

You need some space for the porcelain to sit thinnest veneers can be 0.3mm in places but ideally 1mm thickness is needed as a minimum. If your teeth are under reduced the only option may be to make thicker veneers or you have your teeth prepared some more. Speak to your dentist
