My dentist said to me to have more space for my bite gap what does she mean about it?

Q. When I was getting measurements for my two front teeth for crowns this week, my dentist measured it twice. She said she wanted me to have more space for my bite gap. what did she mean by this? Does this mean I’ll have a gap between my teeth, I’m getting crowns to correct my front teeth to not have a space. In dental terms what did my dentist mean? thankyou.

A. Hi the dentist is referring to thespace between the teeth when you bite together in a verticaldirection, ideally there needs to be a light contact or space so the teeth do not feel proud when you bite together.
