My dentist said root canal treatment is painful and my orthadentist say it is not Im confused

Q. Hi im 14 years old and i have two pre molars (top teeth) and they are badly damaged. My dentist said to me root canal teatment is painful and that it may not work so he said to me to have maryland bridges however i went to an orthadentist to have a specialst opinion and he said root canal treatment is not painful and that i can save my teeth. im confused and dont know what to do can you please help me thank you very much.

A. I carry out root canal treatment all the time and only very rarely do clients complain of pain after the treatment.  I would always want you to try to save your teeth.  If I was you I would have root canal treatment but you may want to talk to another dentist who is more confident in this type of treatment.
