Is this true that skin from inside of you mouth is taken off to be placed on the gums

Q. Hello…i had quite alot of work done on my teeth when i lived in Australia have veneers and grey fillings i had done here in the uk replaced for white ones my dentist in australia said my gums are quite badly receeded and advised me to have a gum graft is this true that skin from the inside of your mouth is taken off to be placed on the gums?? i have been back home here in the uk for a year now and would like this doneplease could you recommend any in the lancaster/manchester area although i would be willing to travel further..many thanks

Soft tissue grafting is a procedure that involves taking some gum from one area- usually at the back of he mouth-or palate area and sewing it in place in the area that it is needed.
