Is There Any Way I Can Reverse The Gum Disease Process? I Have Bone Recession At The Back Of My Mouth.

Q.
Hello Mark. I help you can help me, I have been told by my periodontist that I have the second stage of gum disease and need to have 6 molar teeth extracted, of which, one is loose. There is also bone recession at the back of my mouth.
I would like to know if there is any way that my teeth can be saved by closing the pockets or reattaching the gums to the teeth, or by putting some sort of antibacterial gel around the teeth to reverse the process. Is this possible? Thank you for your time.
A.
Hello and thank you for writing in. If your periodontist thinks that they have no option other than the prospect of an extremely poor prognosis then extraction may be the best option. If you are in doubt or would like to find out if anything can be done then you should try to get a second opinion from the most respected specialist periodontist in your area or nearest big city? It may be helpful for you to do some research on your condition. You can find more information through this website. I hope this helps you. Kind regards, Mark.
