Is There a Less Expensive Alternative for Braces?

Q.
Hello. I had braces two years ago for 6 months. When they took off the mould for the retainer my gums were swollen so it never properly fitted. I went back to the dentist and they sent off another referral for me. I waited 10 months to get an appointment and they said that it is visible that my teeth have moved back but apparently the NHS don’t like offering free orthodontic treatment twice. I know the prices are a lot if I choose to go private, is there a less expensive alternative I could go for?
A.
Hello, thank you for your question. It’s unlikely the NHS will provide another course of treatment, maybe a simple course of clear aligners might help but it will depend entirely on how crowded they are and how long the treatment will take, as sometimes only another full course of fixed treatment will work.
