Is the high noble metal crown pure gold?

Q. Is it true that any high noble metal that a crown is infused of is considered to be gold, is that material as equal in quality as true gold. Your answer will be very much appreciated. Thank You NA

A. 100% gold is too soft to be used as a crown so it is mixed with other metals to create a more durable alloy
