Is sedation safe during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy?

Q. I am 6 weeks pregnant and was referred to have my wisdom teeth extracted before I found out that I am pregnant. I went for a consultation and was told that sedation in the 2nd trimester is safe. Is this true?,
A. It should be fine however if it is an elective procedure you could wait until after your baby is born, obviously if you are suffering from symptoms then it would be good to remove the teeth
