Is it safe for me to have dental veneers and crowns on the upper teeth with periodontal disease?

Q. I am 37 years old, 2 years ago i have been diagnosis with periodental disease. i had 5 m pockets, the dr did scaling for treatment. i have gaps between my teeth and i stoped smiling. is it safe to have veneer and crowns on the upper teeth. the dr advised me to do ortho for my lower teeth also. please let me know if this is safe or not. Thank you,
A. Provided you have reasonable bone levels and your gum disease is treated then either of these options is ok
