Is it possible to have implants where I had 2 of my teeth extracted?

Q. I want to have 2 possibly 3 dental implants these are to fill a gap where i had 2 back teeth extracted many years ago,the remainder of my teeth are excellent and i have only 1 filling in a back tooth on the other side of my mouth.can you fore see any problems arising, also can you advise me of the costs for the treatment. Thank you,

A. It is difficult to give you exact ideas without seeing you.  If the space is in the bottom jaw then it really just depends on how much bone is available for the implants.  If it is the top jaw it can be more complicated as there is a sinus(pocket of air)  in the back of your mouth.  This can mean you may need a bone grafting (adding) treatment first.  Make sure you find a good cosmetic / implant dentist who can carry out these procedures.  You may not need 3 implants and could even have 2 implants and have 3 teeth supported from them.
