Is it possible to have a tooth coloured crown fitted through the NHS?

Q.
i have just been informed i need a crown. I was told on nhs they only offer a silver option and if i want tooth colour i need to pay double. Is this true?
A.
I do not work on the NHS but I would assume a porcelain tooth coloured crown is considered a private option.
