is invisalign treatment permanent

Q. Hello, I had train tracks when I was 15 to straighten my teeth (purely for cosmetic reasons). I am now 22 and my teeth have all but moved completely back to the way they were. I am looking into Invisalign treatment and was wondering how permanent the treatment is? Thanks for your help.

A. Invisalign or any orthodontic treatment will still have a degree of instability the system used to move teeth would not affect this.
What has changed is that your facial growth has now stabilised and that should help. The main thing is that you may need permanent retention (different systems available)
Your Invisalign dentist is responsible for prescribing suitable retention and telling you about it before any treatment starts
