Is flexible plate dental denture really flexible and durable?

Q. I use a full upper denture, my experiences are the solid plate keeps cracking. I recently had my dentist make a full upper flexible plate however, when I received the plate it did not bend it was solid similar to the priors. The lab explained that it was the flexible material even if it did not bend, is this true? My thinking is that the bendible flex would not break as easily.

A. Im afriad that i do not carry out denture fittings so I would not be the best person to advise you on this.
You should keep in mind that although the material you are using is named a ‘flexible’ material, it will still need to be strong enough to stay in you mouth and to hold the false teeth.

I am sure that your dentist would have advised you on the best material for your case but if you are unsure then i recommend you book in for a second opinion with a dentist who specialises in this field.
